Outta Time 

When life hands you lemons! This shoot was the product of a client calling me at 11 p.m. the night before a shoot where I was scheduled to DP some work. When he told me the shoot was canceled all I could think about was the fact that we already rented a lot of gear and it was all prepped and ready to rock. This would be the first time I use the Canon FD prime set. I looked at my friend Alexis and said. “We are gonna shoot something. I don’t know what and I don’t know how but something is going to get shot this weekend.” We sat in my office and came up with a few ideas. Ultimately, she came up with the idea of shooting a watch commercial for the watch that I was wearing at the time. The watch company Benson by Marcel is a Black-owned company from DC and we met the owner. Once we had the idea it was decided that she would direct it and I would DP it. We went scouting that same night for locations. We settled on an area called the sandlot in Baltimore. It had everything we needed for the idea. 95% of what we filmed was in that location. The parking lot shared space with the hotel Canopy so we rented a room and had the scene start there. After that, we started texting people that we knew who could act and wanted to add something to their reel. We cast an amazing group of actors at midnight basically. For the next two days, we were out shooting with some friends and we made it happen! This was shot on my Alexa Mini with Canon FD Primes.
